Feeds
The Feeds page shows the status of all news sources FIN monitors.
What Are Feeds?
Feeds are RSS news sources — the same feeds your news reader uses. They include:
- Google News searches for your ticker
- Yahoo Finance feeds
- Reddit discussions and comments
- Corporate announcement feeds
Each feed is checked on its own schedule, and new articles are pulled in for analysis.
Reading the Feed Status
| Column | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| URL | The feed's web address (click to copy) |
| Status | Current state: Completed, In Progress, Pending, or Error |
| Active | Whether the feed is enabled (green power icon = active, gray = inactive) |
| Entries | How many articles were found in the last check |
| New | How many new articles since the last check |
| Error | Any issue that occurred (e.g., feed unreachable, parsing failure) |
| Day | When the feed was last checked |
Feed Status Colors
- Green (Completed): Successfully fetched and analyzed
- Blue pulsing (In Progress): Currently being processed
- Yellow (Pending): Waiting in the queue
- Red (Error): Something went wrong — check the error column
Filtering Feeds
Use the tab bar to filter by status:
- All: See every feed
- Completed: Only feeds that processed successfully
- In Progress: What's being worked on right now
- Pending: What's waiting to be processed
What Affects Feed Health
A feed might show an error if:
- The feed URL is incorrect or changed
- The website is temporarily down
- The RSS format is malformed
Inactive feeds are grayed out. They won't be checked until re-enabled from the Scheduler page.
What to Watch
- Are feeds completing? A well-functioning system shows mostly "Completed" feeds
- Are there errors? A feed with persistent errors means you're missing articles
- Is the feed active? An inactive feed won't collect any news
